Grounded, Compassionate Care

Shaped by experience, values, and a deep commitment to connection.

Meet Patricia Marchand, MSW, RSW

Hi, I’m Patricia — a registered social worker with over two decades of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s most challenging moments.

I’m passionate about creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported. Whether you’re navigating trauma, family dynamics, mental health challenges, or relationship struggles, my role is to walk alongside you with care, compassion, and a steady presence.

Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm, grounded approach and the way I tailor therapy to meet their specific needs. My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through connection — and that everyone has the capacity to build resilience and move forward with greater strength and clarity.

Clinical Expertise & Modalities

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of British Columbia and have been a practicing social worker for over 20 years. I’m registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (Registration #818814), and I’m a certified member of the Canadian Association of Social Workers (Certificate #2014533).

My educational path has taken me through a range of disciplines that continue to inform my work today:

  • Master of Social Work – University of British Columbia

  • Bachelor of Social Work – McGill University

  • Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women’s Studies – Concordia University

  • Diplôme d'Études Collégiales in North-South Studies – Dawson College

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse clinical settings — including pediatric oncology, outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry, eating disorders treatment, school-based mental health programs, and private practice.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)

  • Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Sandtray Therapy

  • Brainspotting

I’m also proud to serve as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Queen’s University, where I support the training and development of emerging professionals in the field.

My work is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and centred around your strengths. I believe that each client’s journey is unique, and therapy should reflect that. Whether it’s individual healing, family growth, or relationship work, I strive to create a supportive environment that fosters positive change.
