Resilience Begins with Connection

Counselling services for individuals, couples, and families in Kingston and beyond

Building Resilience Counselling Services (BRCS) has been a trusted source of support for individuals, couples, and families—offering both in-person and virtual counselling.

With more than 20 years of experience as a registered social worker in hospital, community, and private practice settings, I offer a strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach. I believe in every person’s capacity to heal, grow, and live a fulfilling life.

Let’s work together to build resilience.

  • A personalized space to explore challenges, build self-awareness, and strengthen coping and communication skills. Whether you're navigating stress, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, or life transitions, therapy can help you move forward with confidence and clarity—on your own or together.

  • Family therapy is a collaborative process that helps families navigate conflict, improve communication, and break unhealthy patterns. Whether you're dealing with a specific issue or long-standing tension, this approach supports the entire family system in healing and strengthening relationships.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy for people struggling with the effects of trauma, anxiety, or past negative experiences. Through guided eye movements and structured sessions, EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.

  • Sandtray therapy is a powerful and creative form of expression that utilizes sand and miniature figures to help clients process their emotions and experiences. It’s especially effective for children—or anyone who finds it difficult to talk about what they’re feeling—offering a safe space to explore inner thoughts and stories.

  • Brainspotting is a focused, neuroscience-based therapy that taps into the brain’s natural ability to heal from trauma. By using specific eye positions and tuning into the body’s sensations, clients access and release deeply stored emotional pain—often with less talking and more internal processing than traditional therapies.

  • A supportive space to strengthen family therapy skills and deepen understanding of complex family dynamics. Grounded in trauma-informed, systemic practice and informed by training in Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT), supervision offers opportunities for reflection, case consultation, and professional growth in family-centered care.
